Veirs
There are certain albums that require some sincere listening before it grows on you. Laura Veirs' Saltbreakers is one such. Since there is so much music readily available today, it is very easy to dismiss songs which do not immediately graft themselves to our tastes. That is exactly what happened with me. Yet with a couple of more listens of the album (while doing something else), I quickly realize how good it is. The single Pink Light is probably the most notable because it gets more airplay. However many other tracks on the album: Nightingale, Wrecking, Don't Lose Yourself are also worth repeated play. The bonus track: Lake Swimming is so haunting that it is easily the best track on the album.
Again, who would have suspected.
