I am saying goodbye to the Sunshine Skyway bridge that I have crossed every working day for the past 8 months. It is a welcome thing too because adding an extra 3.5 hours of commuting time everyday really wears you out after some time. My car blew up and died on the freeway in January and I had to buy a one to continue the trek. I am now located in Bradenton, just about 7 minutes from the nearest beach.
Bradenton isn't as exciting as Tampa but I won't complain just yet. Driving through the small streets, you can really get the sense of what the deep south is all about. The population is greatly weighed towards older people (retirees, you might say). However, the contrast is that it is mainly a touristic town because of its proximity to the beaches. It is smack in the middle of summer so the mosquitoes are out in full force after 5pm. I make it a point to stay strictly indoors at night. Having noticed this aspect after being bit time-after-time by mosquitoes, am I considered a Floridian yet?

What If
What if there was no lie
Nothing wrong, nothing right
What if there was no time
And no reason, or rhyme
What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side
That you don't want me there in your life
What if I got it wrong
And no poem or song
Could put right what I got wrong
Or make you feel I belong
What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side
That you don't want me there in your life
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
Let's take a breath and jump over the side
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
How can you know it, if you don't even try
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
Every step that you take
Could be your biggest mistake
It could bend or it could break
That's the risk that you take
What if you should decide
That you don't want me there in your life
That you don't want me there by your side
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
Let's take a breath and jump over the side
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
How can you know when you don't even try
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
